Chuck‘s latest casting coup is a dream come true: The NBC spyomedy has tapped the original Freddy Krueger—a.k.a. Robert Englund—to guest star in next month’s Halloween episode, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Englund will play Dr Stanley Wheelwright, an evil scientist who can make your waking life a nightmare. He’ll appear in this season’s sixth episode, titled “Chuck Versus Aisle of Terror.”
To recap, Chuck’s other notable season 4 hires include Linda Hamilton, Timothy Dalton, Eric Roberts, Lou Ferrigno, Olivia Munn, Nicole Richie, Old Spice Guy, and Dolph Lundgren.
Chuck‘s new season kicks off in 12 days, 7 hours, and 49 minutes on Monday, Sept. 20.

Chuck returns for Season 4 on September 20th, but IGN can exclusively tell you that fans of the series actually have a much shorter wait when it comes to seeing new material connected to the series. And it all has to do with Halo…
Launching tomorrow — Tuesday, September 7th — is a new webseries called Chuck Presents – Buy Hard: The Jeff and Lester Story. As the title tells you, the focus is on Jeffster! – Jeff (Scott Krinsky) and Lester (Vik Sahay), the Buy More clerks who were forced to go on the run, in the wake of the explosive season finale to Chuck last May.
Buy Hard picks up with the duo still on the lam and presumably wanted by the authorities. But they’re also still just as videogame obsessed as ever, to the point that they risk their freedom in order to track down a copy of a new game you just might have heard a little bit about – Halo: Reach. Jeff and Lester’s Halo-fueled journey takes them to the Encino Buy More, and a run in with Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence).
There are five two-minute webisodes of Buy Hard, which can be seen on TheWB.com at TheWB.com/Chuck. Episode 1 debuts September 7th, with episode 2 on September 8th, episode 3 on September 9th and episode 4 on September 10th. The fifth and final episode will debut on Monday, Sepetember 13th – leading right into the midnight release of Halo: Reach that night, on September 14th. The Chuck webisodes will also eventually be available on Xbox.com and Xbox Live.
We’ve got a quick peek at Chuck Presents – Buy Hard: The Jeff and Lester Story in the following exclusive clip:

Ryan McPartlin: I Had to Dress Up in a Kilt!

Ryan McPartlin pairs a John Varvatos tee with Levi’s in this new spread for August Man magazine’s September 2010 issue.
Here’s what the 35-year-old Chuck actor had to share:
On what he did before he got his big break: “I remember reading about Brad Pitt dressing up like a chicken to wave at people into El Pollo Loco, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck searching the couch for spare change to eat at Sizzler, etc. For me, I had to dress up like a British guard with a kilt at a Tanqueray party and if I remember correctly, my agent at that time attended the party…very humbling.”
On being a former Abercrombie & Fitch model: “When a poster of your half naked body is spread across every A&F store in the country, people in your circle who have known you as this big goofball look at you a little differently. I just started to date my wife at that time and I think it was fun for her because she was at college but I didn’t think it was a big deal.”
On what it’s like working with the cast of Chuck: “The cast of Chuck is as close to me as any group I’ve been around. I sincerely love these people and hope to have a lot more time with them.”

Ausiello Spoilers
Question: What are the chances Chuck will get a back-nine order? I’m freaking out over here! —Eric
Ausiello: I assumed exec producers Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz would be too. But they’re not. As Schwartz points out, “We never started a season with more than 13 episodes. Like last year, we will hope for the best, plan for the worst, and be ready to have an incredible final episode 13 if need be with a contingency plan to keep the season going.” Adds Fedak: “Episode 13 no matter what will be epic.Question: I need some Chuck scoop! —Taylor
Ausiello: Captain Awesome won’t be reviving his short-lived career as international superspy anytime soon. “Last season Awesome realized if there was one place in the world where he wasn’t awesome, it was on spy missions,” notes exec producer Chris Fedak. “He’d like to stay as far away from the spy world as he can.” That’s particularly true now that there’s a mini Awesome on the way. “He is going to be way more into all of the rituals of pregnancy than even Ellie is,” says fellow EP Josh Schwartz of the daddy-to-be. “Like all things in life, Awesome is going to throw himself into the pregnancy with his usual fervor.”

Do you have any Chuck scoop about Casey? — Melanie
MICKEY: We’ll meet two former members of Casey’s Special Ops team. One will be as grounded as the other is skittish. They’ll also, oddly, kind of remind you of Justin “I’m a Mac” Long and John “I’m a PC” Hodgman.
